COACHING STAFF

Marrin Hafner  |  Assistant Coach

Marrin Hafner enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Blue Hawk Volleyball team. Coach Hafner has been with the program for the past two years, as a coach and has been instrumental in the program’s offensive success. Marrin works with the hitters to further develop their arms swings.

As a player, Hafner attended the University of Montana.  She later transferred to Montana Tech to be an Oredigger.  From 2002-2004, Marrin played outside hitter and middle back defense.  She was selected as Newcomer-of-the-Year, All-Conference, and All-Region for the Frontier Conference.

Marrin graduated from Montana Tech in 2005 with a BA in Applied Health Science. She resides in Dickinson with her husband Jerel (former DSU football player and graduate 11’) and two sons, Barrett (4) and Bayle (2).


Gail Dobitz  |  Assistant Coach

Gail Dobitz enters her third season as an assistant coach with the Blue Hawk Volleyball team. Coach Dobitz has been with the program for the past two years, as a coach and has been instrumental in keeping the moral of the team positive and energetic. Gail keeps track of hitter’s kills throughout the match.

Gail is a Blue Hawk fan through and through and can usually be found on the sidelines of every Blue Hawk event. She enjoys spending time with family, playing bingo, watching the Vikings, and of course, coaching her girls. 

She resides in Dickinson and during her free time works for ABLE inc.
